Alexander Polis is the latest photographer to get behind the lens of our newest instalment in our Eye of a King series. We love his clean, intimate approach to portraiture and the way he can document a cultural defining moment in his images. Alexander is also the founder of creative house and lifestyle brand Classic Morrow. Find out why he’s worth a King’s Ransom…
Right now, my passions are photography and my brand Classic Morrow. I got into photography by just messing around with my brother’s camera. Inspired by Tumblr (back in its glory days) I just wanted to create. Classic Morrow started off as a blog which featured stuff I was into at the time, mainly streetwear, music, photography and basketball.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far while running Classic Morrow?
I really don’t know where to start, the whole thing is a challenge, but a welcomed one at that. I think finding my confidence has been one of the biggest challenges though, which is something I’m still working on.
I started the blog back in 2010. Classic Morrow to me is just my creative outlet as its own entity, that’s how The Sound of Classic Morrow (a dj mix series) and Just Recordings (video documentation series) came about. The aim is to add more ventures to it as we grow. This summer we’re doing our first music event in Bristol (25th July @ The Love Inn) and it’ll be our first outside London.
